Simulator Assessment Preparation
Longreach Aviation recommends that all candidates who will undergo a simulator assessment with their chosen airline should thoroughly prepare for this assessment. It will be critical in being offered a position by your airline. Longreach recommends the services of NexGen Aviation of Australia who are able to provide comprehensive prepartion in wide-body jets, such as B787, B777, A330, B744 and B767.
The experienced instructors at NexGen have a comprehensive training program specifically designed to meet the stringent standards of each airline. They know what the airline check pilots are looking for, and so will you!
Currently simulator preparation is offered for the following airlines:
- Air Japan
- Skymark Airlines
- Hainan Airlines
- Cathay Pacific Airways
- China Southern Airlines
- Deer Airines
- several Middle Eastern Airlines

NexGen conducts your training in CASA Certified Level D Full Flight Simulators. This is the same level of simulator approved for checking and training of professional ATPL qualified airline pilots. You cannot find that level of simulator available anywhere else in Australia where candidates can practice their skills prior to interview assessment.
Not only will NexGen provide source material for the interview, but will also provide simulator training to maximise your chances of passing that simulator evaluation. Remember, a high evaluation in a simulator assessment normally means you go to the head of the recruitment list!
NexGen Aviation can provide training in CASA approved Level D Full Flight Simulators of the following types:
- B737NG
- B767
- B747-400
- A330
- Dash8 Q400
Experienced instructors will present the profiles, callouts, and operating procedures as well as insights into the world of contract flying. They will also emphasize cultural awareness from first-hand experience. This program prepares you for interviews at any airline.
Locations are in Sydney or Melbourne, Australia.
Availability is subject to demand. Not all simulators will be available at all times. Please book early to avoid missing out on your aircraft type and preferred time!

- plus 2 hours in a control seat (available only if two candidates present)
